Rebecca Freeman

Rebecca Freeman is a consultant for The Management Standards Consultancy Ltd, specialising in developing National Occupational Standards and associated qualifications frameworks.

Having joined in 2006, Rebecca has acted as:
  • consultant on the revision of NOS for Managing Volunteers
  • consultant on the review of the Local Land Charges NOS for SkillsPlus
  • consultant on the development of the Functional Map for Domestic Violence for the Home Office
  • consultant on the development of new units in the Management and Leadership NOS for the Management Standards Centre for which she carried out research for Phases 1-4 of the Management and Leadership Sector Qualifications Strategy
  • project manager and consultant for the incremental review of Custodial Care NOS and S/NVQs for Skills for Justice
  • lead consultant on the research project for the wider use of National Workforce Competences in the Health Sector
  • lead consultant for the development of the Functional Map and the suite of NOS for Contact Centre roles within the Operational Delivery profession for Government Skills.

A graduate in Psychology and Health Studies at the University of West of England, Rebecca studied a range of issues including Psychology of Work, Psychology of Education, Psychometrics, Counselling, and Biological and Cognitive Behaviour. Rebecca holds the Chartered Institute of Marketing Advanced Certificate covering Promotional Practice, Management Information for Marketing and Sales, Marketing Operations and Effective Management for Marketing.

Since leaving university, Rebecca worked for a manufacturing company gaining experience in sales and marketing. From 2000-6, she worked for Management and Performance Solutions Ltd (MAPS) supporting SSCs, SSBs and clients in the private, public and voluntary sectors to implement NOS using MAPS’s Performer web-based software. In particular, Rebecca helped develop and implement SPRITO Performer in the sport and active leisure sector and DANOS Performer in the substance misuse sector. For three years she was external project manager of the Workforce Quality Initiative for the Home Office’s Positive Futures programme, engaging young people in sport, arts and leisure activities as an alternative to drugs and crime.
