With a background in education and training, Colin Wright has worked as an independent human resource development consultant since 1994.

Colin has specialised in the use and development of National Occupational Standards and accreditation in the workplace. Recent assignments include

  • Implementation of NVQ programmes in public, private and voluntary organisations
  • Research for the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA)
  • Writer of HRD publications for the National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse (NTA)
  • Project manager for the Community Justice National Training Organisation (CJNTO)
  • Writer and researcher for Alcohol Concern, Drug Scope and the Youth Justice Board.
  • With the Management Standards Consultancy, Colin has helped to develop the Drugs and Alcohol National Occupational Standards (DANOS) and led the desk research for the occupational and functional mapping for the recruitment and management of volunteers for the Voluntary Sector National Training Organisation (VSNTO). Colin is currently a member of the team reviewing the National Occupational Standards for Management and is actively involved in developing the competence framework for coronary heart disease for Skills for Health.

    A graduate of the University of East Anglia, Colin is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD), holds the Certificate in Training and Development and is an accredited NVQ Assessor and Verifier.
