Joanna Barnes

After graduating in French at the University of Leeds in 2001, Joanna worked for the automotive manufacturer, Peugeot Citroen Automobiles Ltd for five years, gaining experience in IT, manufacturing, after-sales and project management.

She then studied for an MA in Translation Studies at the University of Warwick, before joining The Management Standards Consultancy Ltd in 2007 as a standards consultant.

Since joining The Management Standards Consultancy Ltd, Joanna acted as consultant on:

  • the revision of NOS for Managing Volunteers for UK Workforce Hub
  • the review of the Local Land Charges NOS for Asset Skills
  • the development of NOS for Social Marketing for the Marketing and Sales Standards Setting Body
  • the development of new units in the Management and Leadership NOS for the Management Standards Centre
  • the incremental review of Custodial Care NOS and S/NVQs for Skills for Justice
  • the development of NOS for Management and Business Consultancy for the Management Standards Centre
  • the development of qualifications based on the NOS for Management and Business Consultancy, including the development of credit-based units for the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF)
  • the development of the Human Resources and Recruitment Learning and Qualifications Strategy for the Management Standards Centre
  • research and analysis to identify the scope of a future review of the Management and Leadership NOS for MSC.
