Intraprendere

ARTES (Applied Research in Training and Education Systems) of Bologna is leading a project to create a specialised resource centre in the Italian region of Campania for the promotion of female entrepreneurism in the fields of arts and craft, tourism and related technology.

Intraprendere will

  • create a permanent network for benchmarking local activities with international best practice
  • exploit the region’s unique arts and craft heritage and its universities’ and research centres’ scientific and technological expertise to promote job creation and economic and social development in which women take leading roles on equal terms with men
  • transfer innovative models and competencies, together with tools and techniques for continuing professional development, to local job centres, training, providers and agencies for local development
  • test out under pilot conditions an integrated model for the promotion of women’s role in the world of work through information, orientation and training of employed and unemployed women of different ages.

Trevor Boutall of The Management Standards Consultancy will provide expert advice to this action-research project. In particular he will

  • create a functional map of the activities required to support women’s entrepreneurship and professional development, benchmark these with UK models and identify relevant National Occupational Standards
  • develop and co-facilitate a 3-day team building and competence development workshop for the consultants, trainers, facilitators etc who will be supporting the beneficiaries
  • support the continuing development of the consultants, trainers, facilitators etc and help them provide evidence of their competence against the relevant standards
  • provide expert advice in developing the project’s process manual and the collection of knowledge and learning throughout the duration of the project.
