National Occupational Standards Strategy

During 2009-10, The Management Standards Consultancy provided consultancy support to the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UK Commission) to help develop, and build consensus on, a strategy for the future of National Occupational Standards (NOS).

Trevor Boutall, Managing Director of The Management Standards Consultancy, and Geoff Carroll of Chase Consulting worked with the UK Commission and its key partners, the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils, individual Sector Skills Councils, the Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB), the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), individual Awarding Organisations, the UK Department for Buisness, Innovation and Skills (BIS), and the Devolved Administrations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, to

  • gather evidence to develop the business case for NOS
  • agree a new model which will guarantee the simplicity, consistency and quality of NOS
  • develop a branding and marketing strategy for NOS.

The Management Standards Consultancy looks forward to helping the UK Commission and its key partners to implement the strategy over the coming years.
