The Management Standards Consultancy is currently developing, on behalf of the Department of Health, a competence framework for workers in the Coronary Heart Disease area. The competences complement the CHD National Service Framework and cover Prevention, Acute Coronary Syndromes, Angina, Revascularisation, Heart Failure and Rehabilitation. Generic competences are used to cover the key areas of - Policy and Strategy

- Research, Evaluation and Improvement
- Collaborative Working
We have developed specialist competences in the key areas of - Risk Reduction
- Assessment, Diagnosis and Planning
- Care Management
- Service Delivery
These competences have now been approved by the CHD Care Group Workforce Team. The revised CHD National Workforce Competence Framework was launched on 3 March 2005 together with guidance on how to use the competences.
