The Management Standards Consultancy was involved in the functional mapping and development of the Custodial Care and Custodial Administration Standards from 1999-2002. The Custodial Care National Training Organisation has now merged into the new sector skills council Skills for Justice. It has developed national occupational standards for the majority of staff in the custodial care sector.
- Custodial Care - for mainstream operational staff working in Prisons, YOIs and Juvenile establishments, Immigration Detention, Military Corrections, Electronic Monitoring, Court and Escort Services
- Custodial Administration - specialist admin functions performed only in custodial settings
- Custodial Healthcare - aimed at staff providing nursing care in a custodial settings
- Youth Justice - for staff working with Young Offenders and Juveniles
