MSC Individual Work Party Projects

Below are Work Projects that are available for those members unable to make the regular work party events because of other commitments (i.e. work schedules, etc).  These are best suited for 1-2 people. They can be completed on your schedule. Most projects will qualify for one (1) work party credit, but there will be instances that two (2) credits will be given. If the project will earn two (2) credits it will be noted in the project description.

Probationary members needing their work party credits will be given priority if two people apply at the same time.

Each project will have a coordinator assigned and should be contacted prior to starting the project.

The coordinator will:

  • Explain the scope of work to be completed
  • Arrange to have the required supplies available to you at the clubhouse
  • Answer any questions you may have
  • Notify the Membership Chairman you have completed the assignment and eligible for work party credit

Coordinators:

    • Please send requests for new projects to:  website@themsc.org
    • Include project details and contact information

_Grounds Maintenance_______

Project: #241107

Status: Available

Coordinator: Ron Vincent  Phone: (937) 776-3605   Email: ronlvincent@yahoo.com

Description

A) The West Range wooden drain culvert needs to be dredged. It's important to keep this area as deep as possible to prevent water from ponding across the range. Unfortunately the drain outlet from the West Range to the Action Bay is slightly higher. This causes some volume of water to remain in the West Range. The goal is to create water displacement as near the drain as possible (i.e. a small deep area rather than a shallow large area).  It might be advisable to remove some mud/dirt from the plastic drain culvert containing the outlet to prevent the mud level from reaching the pipe. Also clear away any brush inside that wood retaining area to prevent overgrowth, for easier future maintenance.

B) The Steel Bay needs the build up of dirt/mud removed from the outlet of the steel culvert pipe to the bridge.  If you can get under the bridge that would be ideal but not mandatory.

C) The North Bay retention area near the dual drain pipes need dredging. The objective is to keep the mud/dirt level below the pipes.

This project will be easier with the assistance of club tractor, discuss this with the coordinator to have an approved club tractor operator available.
